Why pay monthly payments Plus rental fees for prime movies

Why do I pay for a membership with Amazon Prime and still have to pay to rent prime selected movies? I used to have a Prime account, I canceled it for the same exact reason listed above.

My son now has an account, I was using his today as a guest and low & behold what do I see, "The same exact reason listed above that I'm complaining about". So my question is WHY do I have to pay for Amazon Prime Video with a monthly payment , plus be charged to rent Prime movies? WHY - Please explain this to me ! I don't have this issue with Netflix, Hulu.

According to the Amazon help section, Prime Video is additional, paid subscription that should allow you to add the content you want from third-party premium networks and other streaming entertainment channels.

The reason for the charge(s) due to when the movie/series came out. If it is recent then yes, you stand a good chance on getting charged to watch. Netflix does not charge as it does not show "new" content unless it is its own or they have a license from the show to present it for streaming. Hulu DOES charge for certain series and movies. There are additional costs needed to see something on Hulu that might presently be in theaters or on another streaming platform, like CBS All Access.

Have you tried logging in on your phone or PC? Most streaming services require completing set up this way.

My prime account is not working on my tv

We have an Amazon prime tV app and it only works on one tv. How do I get the app to work on both tvs. This happened when I tried to upgrade my account.

On the website, there is a program that allows for up to 5 devices to watch from, so long as they are set up for streaming.

I don't use Amazon Prime as much as other shoppers, I believe it is not beneficial for me to have Amazon Prime for 14.00 a month.

English movies in Spanish only, why not offer choice of language like your competitors

We live in Costa Rica and went to watch The Great Escape and Lincoln Lawyer and to my amazement it is offered in Spanish only, all movies should be offered in its original language, and the customer should be able to leave it in its original format or change it to Spanish, especially in this day and age where I assume that it cant be that hard to be able to change the language from Spanish to English on a movie like The Great Escape.

Typically the audio is based on the region you are in. You could try accessing the options for the video and select English audio. You can also set your preferences in your Amazon Prime account. Go to the Prime menu, go all the way down to Help & Settings. There you will find the option for language and the country. Set it there and your referenced videos should be targeted according to the language and country you set.

Bring up Amazon Prime on your desktop browser. Go to "Account & Lists", then under "Your Account" go to "Prime Membership". From there you can manage your prime membership, including canceling the service. If they took the money from your account you'll have to call them to see if you can get a refund. Usually they won't credit it to your card but give you an Amazon Gift Card credit with the amount.

Not really. They give discounts for various reasons. I received a discount due to being on Food Stamps (EBT). This discount rate applies to most of prime features - including purchases and videos.

Check under your Orders (see "Account & Lists", then "Your Orders") to see what it was for. If it does not show up there check under any subscriptions or memberships that are managed by Amazon. As always you can call Amazon and they can find out for you and help solve your problem.

why did you cancel gardeners world 2019 right in the middle of the series

You stopped showing the series right in the middle of the 2019 year. And it said in a yellow box "Watch List" what the heck does that mean. I am paying for prime and don't expect this.

Not all seasons are carried by Amazon due to licensing issues with the studio that produced the show. The BBC controls the licensing and may limit showing it in your country. Just ask echo to play the music or book for you. Audio books may require a purchase prior to playing. Music is part of your Prime Membership, albeit some content requires a Amazon Music membership. You could get a free Pandora account if you want a genre that is not carried by Amazon.

Why is a series no longer available in my location

One of my favorite series THE ORPHEUS PROJECT, which I watched constantly if nothing "clicked" for me is now no longer available in my location. I live in Northampton MA and I am very very upset. Please get it back on the air ASAP!!!!!

The series actually came out in 2016, which means it had a short shelf life on Amazon Prime. The series was withdrawn (license wise) and now runs on the DUSTx network. There was only one season of this show. It was noted they were trying to get a Oct 2019 season running. I have yet to see it come to pass.

I googled where I could watch an 80s cartoon and it said Amazon Prime videos. I go to search it.

It says video is currently unavailable.

The old cartoons may have been removed due to the "woke culture" complaints that [PERSON_NAME] had a gun, or that [PERSON_NAME] was a stalker and womanizer. You may have to search from within Prime to see if they exists. I would recommend checking with YouTube and see if they are carried there.

Some movies lack closed captioning. Particularly foreign flicks and old TV shows. You might want to perform a web search for your show and see if it was ever closed captioned. If so, you call and let Amazon know about it.

Scammed by fake fund raiser

I was contacted via messenger on my phone for a donation of an Amazon gift card for someone that had just experienced the death of their child. I thought it was legit and ordered a eGift card.

The site was: Fund donation57@***.com.

Is there a way to stop this shift? I'm concerned for my account.

Red Flag: getting a SPAM message on Messenger Red Flag: To receive anything from Amazon on any platform other than Amazon Red Flag: You not bothering to change your Messenger settings to prevent unknown users from sending you SCAM stuff in the first place. - Be sure to secure your account and only make it so those you are friends with can send you messages. - Change your password on both Facebook and Amazon (not to the same password, please) - FLag the message adn block the user.

According to the Amazon help section, you should be able to return a Prime Video order within 48 hours if you haven't attempted to watch or download it.
To request a refund you should follow these steps:
  • go to Your Orders;
  • find the accidental order you’d like to cancel;
  • select Cancel Your Order;
  • choose a reason for the cancellation from the drop-down menu;
  • click Cancel This Purchase.

After the cancellation is complete, your refund should be issued to the payment method used for the order.

  • go you your orders,
  • select Order Details link for the order you want to change,
  • select Change next to the details you want to modify (delivery shipping address, payment method, gift options, etc.).

According to the “How to change the email address associated with your Amazon account” article posted at businessinsider.com, you can easily change the email associated with your Amazon account:
  • Go to amazon.com in a browser on your PC and log into your account;
  • Hover the cursor over "Account & Lists" and select "Your Account";
  • Click on "Login & Security";
  • Enter your password and click "Sign-In";
  • Select "Edit" next to the section for your email;
  • Enter your new email address in the appropriate fields and enter your account password, as well as the security characters that appear;
  • Click "Save Changes";
  • Click "Done" when returned to the "Login & Security" page. Once updated, you'll start receiving order confirmation and tracking updates to your new email address.
